Contact by email or telephone
When you contact us, we process the information you provide, such as your name, business contact details, organisation and project information, to answer your enquiry and prepare a possible working relationship. Clicking an email or telephone link opens the relevant application on your device; the website does not itself send a message.
For steps towards a contract with you as the contracting party, the basis is Article 6(1)(b) of Law No. 195/2024. For enquiries by an organisation’s representative or general business enquiries, it is the legitimate interest in responding under point (f). The corresponding GDPR grounds apply where relevant. Legally required retention relies on point (c).
You provide the information voluntarily. Without a way to reply or enough project information, we may be unable to answer your enquiry. Please initially send only the details needed to discuss it.
The info@donauconnect.com mailbox is operated by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. This involves email addresses, message contents, any attachments and technical delivery information. STRATO identifies German data centres for its email services. Donauconnect handles correspondence in the Republic of Moldova. Messages are not automatically forwarded to another email mailbox.
Recipients and international processing
Recipients include the people handling the matter at Donauconnect and necessary hosting, email and telecommunications providers. STRATO GmbH in Germany provides the web hosting and our email mailbox. Data are disclosed to authorities where required by law.
Donauconnect handles enquiries in the Republic of Moldova. According to STRATO, its web hosting and email servers are located in Germany. Donauconnect therefore also handles your enquiry outside Germany and the European Union.
Retention periods
IP addresses for attack detection: According to STRATO’s published information, visitor IP addresses are retained for detecting and defending against attacks for a maximum of seven days.
Access logs: For supported hosting packages, STRATO describes downloadable logs covering the previous six weeks, with anonymised IP addresses or hostnames. Graphical statistics may remain available for longer. These availability periods are not a general deletion deadline for all data.
Enquiries: We delete completed enquiries that do not result in an order, together with the associated personal data, 90 days after handling the enquiry is complete. Where statutory retention duties apply or data are needed to establish, exercise or defend claims, the necessary data remain stored for the corresponding period. For orders, further retention is governed in particular by statutory requirements for contractual and accounting records.
Your rights
Subject to the legal conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent for the future without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

You may complain to Moldova’s supervisory authority, the Centrul Național pentru Protecția Datelor cu Caracter Personal (CNPDCP): complaints and contact, centru@datepersonale.md, +373 22 820 801. Where the GDPR applies, your complaint rights under it remain unaffected.
